Why wont my sim write novels?!?

On sims 3 wii i have lots of skills cooking, charisma, painting, fishing etc... i also own TWO computers: a laptop and a regular. whenever i click on the computer it doesn't give me a "write novel" option all it gives me is "play game". "post inappropriate forum" and "chat". so what am i doing wrong?!!?
