Sims 2 pets question?

Okay so i have 6 sims and 2 puppies. I moved out the puppy parents out so one of my sims can get married, but it keeps saying my pet is pregnant? i cant get married and move one other sim in. But i have 2 1-day old puppies. why is this happening?
