Switching pre-paid phones?

I currently have a Motorola Rival, which as many of you may know, SUCKS. It has not been working, as its screen glitches like crazy. My brother gave me his LG Keybo, and I was wondering if I could transfer everything (without a SIM card) from the Rival to the Keybo? Is that possible, it would just be pictures and contacts , as well as keeping the same number I currently have. Again this is on a pre-paid plan, and would there be a charge (with Telus)?
