My old straight talk phone number wont transfer over to my new straight talk phone what should I do?

Ok so i got a new straight talk phone and tried to switch my number I called them and they didn't help at all! they said my sim card won't work. Should I take it back and switch it with a new one? I need this phone with in the next day or 2. Help please what should I do?
