Do sprouts benefit from ventilation?

I know there are a lot of people who know a lot about growing sprouts for food. I know that yeasted bread dough grows better with air circulation--or at least it is used in a Zojirushi bread machine. But I wonder if sprouts would do best with both water and air circulation? (Presently I just leave the lid ajar. I want to contain the humidity because I live in a dry climate.)
